Pecan Pie

4 eggs
6 oz. light brown sugar
1/4 c. or 3 oz. light corn syrup , or substitute maple syrup
1/4 c. or 3 oz. molasses
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/8 c. whiskey or bourbon
1-1/2 oz. or 3 TBS melted unsalted butter
10 oz. pecans, roughly chopped (hold some whole halves for topping)

Prepare Short Dough Crust. Whisk eggs, just to break them up. Mix in brown sugar, corn syrup (or maple syrup), molasses, salt, vanilla, and whiskey. Stir in melted butter and pecans. Pour into partially baked crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until set.
Notes: The original recipe called for corn syrup. We substituted (and prefer)the maple syrup.
